  • I spend a lot of time in schools, libraries, and community spaces sharing stories and speaking about Indigenous education. I’ve been part of festivals, podcasts, CBC features, panels, and writing workshops, and I enjoy talking about how books come to life, how Indigenous literature can live in classrooms in meaningful ways, and how students can find their own paths into post-secondary education. I often share what I’ve learned about writing, publishing, and applying for scholarships, especially with Indigenous students who are trying to figure out what comes next. Most of what I do is collaborative. I’m usually working alongside others and learning as I go.
  • I don’t always know what my “title” is, but I know I care deeply about this work. If you’d like to book a school visit, workshop, podcast, media appearance, or collaboration, please head to the Contact page. I’d be happy to connect.

Springtime in Kitkatla by Kim Spencer (Orca Book Publishers, 2026)

"This story made me emotional. It’s the kind of book I wish I had as a child, growing up First Nations. It brings back memories of travelling by boat to Gingolx with my grandmother when I was seven—talking the whole way until Elders called me asgyaaba̱x, meaning chatterbox in Sm’algya̱x—and the beautiful times visiting Kitkatla/Gitxaała with friends in grade five, staying with their families. A story for today’s children, for those who came before and for those still to come." — Samantha Beynon

Blue Camas, Blue Camas by Danielle S. Marcotte (Heritage House Publishing, 2023)

"Blue Camas, Blue Camas is a captivating story revealing the overlooked history of colonial contact and its impact on Indigenous communities. Through vivid storytelling and diverse voices, it emphasizes land stewardship, cultural heritage, and fostering empathy, making it a valuable resource for children.” — Samantha Beynon
